About us

I was originally interested in knives from an early age, I recall standing on a chair next to my father and being given the important task of cutting mushrooms and other soft veggies.

Most of my family gatherings were based around eating, prepping food or simply making food.

At a young age the martial arts interested me and edged weapons work became a part of that as well.

When I make knives, I start with an idea or a need that needs to be filled!, sometimes that would be a specific knife or tool for the kitchen or workshop.

Some of my knives have a defensive theory in mind such as my self defense fixed blade with a reverse edge with the implication of cutting in the pull for up close and personal work.

One of the biggest parts of my Knife work is that I won’t compromise on the heat treatment, metallurgy and the over all design to save money.

I always aim to build a quality product for the end user in mind.

In the way of what materials and methods I use; that is not a simple question to answer.

When I first started making knives, it was very simple grinders, files, and very basic drilling techniques.

But as time has grown over the last 25 years, I have incorporated a lot more in the way of machine shop, jewelry, blacksmithing, a lot of Japanese metalsmithing and texturing.

I’ve had a long time, interest, engraving, and other methods of embellishments, which I’m currently trying to feel more comfortable with implementing in my design work.

I’m located in Cochrane Alberta Canada, I enjoy a lot of the culinary arts as it applies to my craft and I love good food.

I also great enjoy reading and researching many topics of interest and passively do some book binding and journal making as well.

I love the hunting in the outdoors, as well as always trying to push myself to greater limits in physicality of martial arts, as well as just trying to do a little bit better each day.

I build knives for everyone and in all aspects of life.

When I was younger I mostly focused on combat knives and knives or a more defensive nature but as time progresses it became clear it was hard to sell a battle axe to most soccer

Moms and such but a kitchen knife was a much easier option for most as they could see themselves using a knife to prepare meals and take care of themselves and the family.

I’ve made knives for most professions and individuals alike.

I want my knives and craft to represent and stand as a testament to the values and principles I try to apply to my life.

I try to be one percent better each day and every knife that leaves my shop gets better over time as I grow and learn.
